Code of ethics refers to all the values that govern the working of professionals in their area of expert. It guides them especially when faced by a problem that require decision making. The success of implementation of ethics is governed by the core values in the industry. Core values refer to the guidelines upheld by professionals in their work set up. They contribute to the morality of the society. Ethics refers to the moral good or bad of an action as viewed by the society. Societal morality is based on good ethics by the residents of that community.
In understanding the theory of morality, two broad sets of theories are developed. The theories are consequentialist and non-consequentialist. The consequentialist theory determines the moral right or wrong of an action. Non-consequentialist theory grounds the judgment of morality of good or wrong on the action by a person. It does not rely on the consequence from the action. A happy world is a result of the happiness of its people. This essay discusses the life plan for the future and its applicability to a person.
Personal code of ethics is what determines the moral uprightness of a person (Crane 2007). In addition, it refers to the feelings individuals have on an action. It guides a person in the personal life and professional life. Based on personal code of ethics, a person judges the consequentiality and non-consequentiality theories of moral ethics. Priorities in life are governed by principles of good morals (Crane 2007). Ethics determine the morality of an individual and society at large. The most important thing in life is to have a sense of morality and well-being. When an individual is morality upright, they can achieve as many things as the wish.
Ethics affect an individual`s career path in life. It also affects the behavior of a person in an organization (Crane 2007). As it is said human being is a social animal, one must interact with people in the day to day activities. The way one behaves in public is influenced by the moral beliefs of that person. Organizational productivity is guided by the way, employees interact with each other in the work set up. This is an influence of ethics at work as portrayed by employees. Ethics also affect the way employees interact with the customers of the organizations (Crane 2007). The most rewarding part of a job is the interaction it offers to the individuals.
Motivation at work is a factor of ethics of an individual. Employees who are highly motivated have high chances of performing at work. They usually go a mile ahead in their jobs, and this contributes to the performance of the organization. Good relationships with the seniors at work are as a result of good morals in an individual. Respect for the boss should be granted all the times. This will create peaceful working environment and support cohesiveness at work. Job resignation is mostly caused by lack of work-life balance. The senior management should ensure all the time that employees have a balanced lifestyle. Ample time for the families should be created to reduce cases of family wrangles.
An individual should portray a professional picture to peers at work. There should never be any conflict of interest. One should observe the rule of law in carrying out the duties at work. Integrity should be observed all times by all the employees (Crane 2007). This promotes the level of interaction and professionalism at work. Senior management should avoid all cases of nepotism, favoritism and undue influence in making decisions of promotions. One should be promoted because of their hard work and also qualification. Trading one`s integrity to receive the favors will ruin the good working relationship (Crane 2007). The boss should warrant a good association with the juniors at all times.
It is the obligation of the management to ensure that all employees have job security. There should be proper guideline on the job description to avoid friction at work. Professional boundaries should be fastened at work place (Crane 2007). Additionally, an employee should never assign a job to the other and expect favors to fall on them. Harassments at work should be avoided at all cost. One should never practice a competing business with that of their employer. This will lower the chances of conflict of interest.

This essay discusses the life plan for the future and its applicability to an individual. It is clear that personal code of ethics influences the moral uprightness of a person. The moral upbringing of children affects their future morality levels in the society. Both consequentiality and non-consequentiality theories affect the decisions made by people. The soundness of a good moral is as a result of good personal codes of ethics. Rule of law should also consider the basic necessity of life. Human life should be given priority in the event of a conflict between ethics and rule of law. Consequentiality theory challenges the common sense in doing things. An action should be weighed intrinsically before proper ethics theory is applied. Personal code of ethics is what determines the moral uprightness of a person.
